To link your Brother printer to your computer, follow these steps:

  • 1. The router/access point you’re using must be connected to your PC.
    Your computer will automatically detect a Wi-Fi® network when you turn it on.)
  • 2. Use the same wireless router/access point to connect your brother printer.
  • 3. To use your brother printer, you must connect it to your computer through a USB cable for Brother Printer to WiFi Setup.

Install the printer driver first, then set up your wireless network.

  • 1. Check to see if your computer is connected to your wireless router or AP.
    (Continue to the following step if your PC is already connected to a Wi-Fi network.).
  • 2. To get started, go to the [Downloads] section of this website and grab the Brother printer driver and P-touch Editor.
  • 3. To begin the installation, double-click the downloaded file.
  • 4. After you’ve selected [Wireless Network Connection], click [Next.”.
  • 5. Select [Brother Peer-to-Peer Network Printer] in Windows Explorer.
  • 6. click [Next] to proceed with the installation.
  • 7. Make a USB cord ready for the plugin. Please tick the box next to [I can install using a USB cable.].
  • Only WPS Users Are Allowed
  • Select [No, I don’t have a USB cord] to use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected SetupTM). Complete the programme installation by following the on-screen prompts, and then move on to step 13.
  • 8. Click [Next] after selecting the SSID (Network Name) you confirmed earlier.
  • 9. Click [Next] when the installation confirmation screen displays, and then make sure the check box is selected.
  • 10. If you’re sure the SSID (Network Name) is correct, click [Yes].
  • 11. Complete the programme installation by following the on-screen directions.
  • The installer will close when you click [Finish] at the end of the installation process.
  • 12. The Brother printer Wi-Fi LED turns on when it’s linked to your wireless router/access point.
  • 13. Editor Lite LED should be off before you start using the Editor. The P-touch Editor should be opened, and the Brother printer should be selected from the drop-down menu.
  • 14. Editing and printing labels from your computer is now possible without any additional hardware.

Install the printer driver and manually set up the wireless connection (For Windows)

An AC adapter or Li-ion battery is required for wireless printing from your printer. You can’t use a wireless network with an alkaline or Ni-MH battery-powered brother printer.

  • 1. Make sure your computer has the printer driver, Printer Setting Tool, and P-touch Editor installed.
  • 2. Set the printer to print.
  • 3. Check to see if the Wi-Fi LED on the printer is on and flashing.
  • ● If the Wi-Fi LED does not flash, your router may need to be repaired.
  • ● Turn on the wireless mode by pressing and holding the Wireless Mode button for one second. Release the Wireless Mode button once the Wi-Fi LED has turned on.
  • 4. Use a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer.
  • 5. Click [Communication Settings] in the Printer Setting Tool after starting it on the computer. You may learn more about using the Printer Setting Tool in Windows by checking out this article: “Using the Printer Setting Tool”.
  • Go to [Wireless Settings], [Wireless LAN] tab, and perform these steps:
  • a. In [Communication Mode], make sure [Infrastructure] is chosen.
  • b. Enter the SSID (Network Name) that you previously used, or click [Search…] and choose the SSID from the list of SSIDs that appear.
  • 7. Click [Apply] after you’ve entered your password as [Passphrase].
  • Set your wireless network’s [Authentication Method] and [Encryption Mode] to the appropriate values.
  • 8. Upon successful connection, the printer’s Wi-Fi LED will cease blinking and become solidly illuminated.
  • 9. Editor Lite LED should be off before you start using the Editor. The P-touch Editor should be opened, and the printer should be selected from the drop-down menu.
  • 10. Editing and printing labels from your computer is now possible without any additional hardware.

Install the printer driver and manually set up the wireless connection (For Mac)

An AC adapter or Li-ion battery is required for wireless printing from your printer. You can’t use a wireless network with an alkaline or Ni-MH battery-powered brother printer.

  • 1. Download the complete software package from this website’s [Downloads] section.
  • 2. Open the downloaded file by clicking on it once and then again.
  • 3. Locate the Wireless Device Setup Wizard in the [Utilities] folder on your computer.
  • 4. [Wireless Device Setup Wizard. App] will launch after you click on it.
  • 5. To connect your printer to your wireless router/access point, follow the on-screen instructions.
    To finish the setup, we suggest utilising a USB cord.
  • 6. The router/access point you’re using should be connected to your PC.
  • 7. Check to see if your computer’s Wi-Fi is turned on.
  • Use the SSID you created in the previous step to log in using. Your PC will now be able to connect to your wireless router/access point.
  • To proceed, you must have Wi-Fi already installed on your computer.
  • 8. Editor Lite LED should be off before you start using the Editor. The P-touch Editor should be opened, and the printer should be selected from the drop-down menu.
